Last Minute Reservations - Valentine's Day
Love is in the air – and on your plate it seems, as restaurants city-wide prepare their Valentine’s Day menus.
Whether you’ve got a date or are simply looking for somewhere to take yourself and those you love, we’ve put together a quick hit list that will take the stress out of a last minute reservation.
Batârd |239 W. Broadway, batardtribeca.com
Batârd’s $135 Valentine’s Day prix fixe doesn’t disappoint: from barley risotto with roasted scallops to duck breast with squash ravioli, every course will leave you wanting more. Until, of course, dessert arrives—choose from a crème brulee or a chocolate torte, complete with pink peppercorn ice cream.
Khe-Yo | 157 Duane Street, kheyo.com
Khe-Yo’s tapas-style Valentine’s menu costs $75 for a three-course tasting. Choose from such options as yellowfin tuna tartare, duck wonton dumplings, soy ginger braised pork belly, and poached black bass with charred shallots and apple eggplant. To bring the evening to a rich close? Chocolate layer cake.
Locanda Verde | 377 Greenwich Street, locandaverdenyc.com
There’s plenty of amore on Locanda Verde’s three-course prix fixe menu ($95 per person) this holiday. From veal tartar with aged balsamic and black trumpet vinaigrette to lamb shank stuffed with sun chokes, olives and black truffle, the offerings are indulgent from beginning to end—as Valentine’s day should be.
Racines | 94 Chambers Street, racinesny.com
The $95 prix fixe at Racines is lustworthy enough—scallop tartare, monkfish with creamy black rice, chocolate with ganache and salted butter caramel—but to really get in the spirit of the holiday, why not really treat yourself and your S.O. and go for the $125 truffle option. We sure would.
The Odeon | 145 W. Broadway, theodeonrestaurant.com
The iconic Tribeca restaurant serves up some sexy specials including—what else—Island creek oysters, a baby beet salad with rich blood orange and red sorrel, and pan roasted sea scallops.
The Roxy Hotel | 2 Avenue of the Americas www.roxyhotelnyc.com
The Roxy Hotel welcomes lovers, friends and family into their revamped bar and lounge for Valentine’s Weekend. Diners can enjoy live entertainment and a pre-fixe menu for $55.00 that includes an appetizer, entree and desert. Being served on the speciality menu are dishes like hand chopped steak tartare with egg yolk and hay stack potatoes, pan seared halibut with clams, haricot vert and sea beans and a passion fruit panna cotta.
Tinys | 135 West Broadway, http://tinysnyc.com/
The rustic three story restaurant in Tribeca, housed in a townhouse dating back to 1810, is a sure-fire date spot. A cozy setting and fine food will always win. On offer this weekend is a prix fixe Valentine’s menu set at $68.00 per person. Aptly named ‘A Love Story’, the five course meal is serving all from grilled cheese & tomato soup, truffled risotto, feta crusted rack of lamb and crispy red snapper. Finishing touches – the double chocolate espresso cookie and adult hot chocolate shot.
