Girls Of Summer by Dustin Pittman
GIRLS OF SUMMER at The Roxy Hotel features selected works from Dustin’s Pop Archives and will be on display thru September 3, 2024.
Downtown’s art, fashion, and nightlife crowd gathered at The Roxy Hotel on May 21st for the launch of Dustin Pittman’s latest exhibit, Girls of Summer. Featured works include 70s fashion campaigns from Coney Island, Harlem, Times Square, and other notable New York City locations.
Dustin Pittman’s career is an ode to embracing the extraordinary. His images portray an eclectic cast of New York City characters. Pittman’s work reverberates with a simple, profound truth: he offers his subjects the opportunity to “just be.”
He prioritizes capturing people naturally, (something he learned from Andy Warhol) allowing their true essence to shine. He values preserving genuine moments that reflect their spirits and life stories. An homage to unadulterated authenticity.
Dustin is always searching, looking, always ready, “posed & present” to capture the moment. He has been photographing people for over 50 years. In the studio. On the streets. In the studio. Way uptown. Way downtown. Brooklyn. New York, Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Europe, India, the Middle East, and the entire world. Day for Night. Night for Day.
